Hard to play it down as just another day or hey, it's just a number! 55 years is somewhat of a milestone. Much reflection over the past few days, maybe too much time away from home or too much time on those long haul airplane rides.
Bottom line - Life Is Good! Loving and supporting wife, my children are honest productive individuals, my sons in law are the best and the grandchildren are the highlight of my life. Health wise - eye sight could be better, hearing never has been the best(Thank You US Navy), a bit slow getting off the couch at times - but all and all, doing OK!
As I travel and work with the people in these "emerging countries", I have become more aware that there is a lot of pain and suffering in this world. But there is a common thread no matter where you go, people work long and hard with hopes/dreams of providing a safe and better future for their families. But in many cases, their governments appear to hinder more than help. Love the people I work with and the extended families that have developed over the years.
Count my blessings each day that I am an American and more important from the Great State of Texas!
It's all about location, location, location!!!
Much to be thankful for, truly a blessed man.
