Quickie

Quick update. Bec made it back safely to China from an extended visit to our home in Texas. She is going through a little (no major) withdrawal, missing the family already, especially holding and hugging on the grandkids! She is already planning another trip in late Sept or early Oct.

I just returned from two weeks in Europe. Beautiful time of the year and yes the fresh air/blue skies were great!!!! From today's Beijing smog level, I am not sure that the promise of "good quality air" will make in time for the games to begin!?!?!

Things here in China seem mixed. Olympic fever in full swing, but the aftermath from the earthquake continues to mount. Another major aftershock (6.0) yesterday killing and injuring more people. Also many more homes destroyed. News groups report that movement could be felt in Beijing's taller buildings (we are 800 miles away from the heavily damaged areas). Signs of the time.

One of Bec's co-workers, (CJ) is coming to visit next week! Our first guest to visit, see the sights and of course to do some shopping. Hope more will take advantage to visit us and experience China!mike
